are always being asked for variations on those, sometimes resulting in new designs. All styles can be changed to suit your decoration
or style taste. NEVER BE AFRAID TO

Moccasins are orthopedically
correct for most people; in other words, healthy for your feet. If you are comfortable walking barefooted,
they are for you. They frequently help
with backaches and arch problems, including those caused by standing on
concrete floors. We constantly produce
moccasins for people with foot problems, poor circulation, different-sized or
oddly shaped feet. We don’t believe
there are “normal” feet! Larger
sizes are considered a challenge. Our
record is a size 17, and we are looking to top that! What size do you wear?
Almost all moccasin styles come in three
levels: Low (ankle-high); Medium
(mid-calf); Tall (knee- high). It is
very important that we have precise measurements and your normal shoe
size. Most people find they lose 1 or 2
sizes when converting to moccasins.
Remember, they are more like socks, in the fit, than like the shoes we
are used to. There is no ‘men’s’ or
‘women’s’; a size 8 is an 8 is an 8.
All decorations are modular and optional;
they decide your total price. They are
added to the base price shown on the price list. To explain: YOU select your leather
color, your decoration, such as beads sewn into the seam, extra fringe, permanently
painted designs or maybe Pendleton wool inlay.
When you put all your options together like a puzzle, it dictates your
total price. If you are confused, have
questions, or need help deciding what you want, call or email for help! We expect questions and are used to them!
KITS: We produce kits, by custom order, in all the
same moccasin styles/variations. They come with
instructions, have no fear! A kit is
discounted 25% off the price of a custom pair of moccasins; i.e., a
pair of
PATTERNS: We are SparrowHawk Publishing and produce
patterns of our own moccasin designs; some styles are traditional, some are
created from scratch. You can view/order
these patterns on our website. If you
need patterns in special sizes or you want variations added, we will custom
produce one for you at a special price.
HOW TO ORDER
1.
You will find a price sheet with all the moccasin styles and
options listed. Prices are for basic
moccasins. You like the cuff on one style and the fringe on another? No problem!
Talk to us! Call for help if you
need to.
2.
You will also find a contract included.
All orders require a signed contract and a non-refundable
50% minimum deposit before work will begin!

3.
You will find a fitting sheet on which to list your measurements. For tall or medium mocs,
we need the length of your leg from the point of your ankle bone,
on the outside of your leg, to the crease behind your knee. Keltoi is the only exception; they are measured from the floor
to the crease behind your knee. Measure the diameter of your calf at the
most muscular part. Be sure to write
all these measurements on the fitting sheet.
4. Remove
one shoe, leaving your sock on. Put that
foot on a paper large enough. Put all
your weight on that foot. Have a friend help you (;you
can not do it for yourself and have it come out right) draw an ink line closely
around that foot. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
If your feet don’t match, draw a pattern of EACH foot.
